Acceptable Use Policy
This policy describes what you may and may not do when using Context Hints. It applies to anyone visiting the site, using the free tools, engaging us for advisory work, or — when applicable — running campaigns through a future Context Hints platform. Violations are grounds for suspension or termination depending on severity.
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to every user of the Service as defined in our Terms of Service: visitors, free-tool users, customers, partners, advisory clients, and any third party acting on a customer's behalf. If you are an agency operating Context Hints on behalf of a client, both you and the client are bound by this policy.
2. Restricted categories
The following categories require explicit pre-approval from Context Hints before any advisory engagement proceeds or before any campaign is launched through a future Context Hints platform. We may decline at our discretion or impose additional terms before agreeing to work in these categories:
- Gambling and online betting.
- Cryptocurrency, tokens, and decentralized financial products.
- Cannabis and CBD products.
- Alcohol and tobacco-related products.
- Firearms, ammunition, and weapons accessories.
- Adult content of any kind.
- Political advertising, election-related content, or advocacy on contested social issues.
- Pharmaceutical products, prescription drugs, and clinical health claims.
- Multi-level marketing, get-rich-quick programs, and high-yield investment schemes.
- Surveillance technology, spyware, and tools whose primary purpose is to monitor individuals without their consent.
These categories are restricted because they carry elevated regulatory, brand-safety, or platform-policy risk. Restriction does not mean prohibition — it means we need to understand the specific use case before saying yes.
3. Prohibited content
The following content categories are prohibited outright and we will not engage with them under any circumstances:
- Content that sexually exploits or endangers minors.
- Content that incites or glorifies violence, terrorism, or hate against a protected group.
- Content that deceptively impersonates a person, brand, or government agency.
- Content that promotes fraud, scams, or other clearly illegal activity.
- Content that promotes self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide.
- Content that promotes discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
- Stolen intellectual property, including pirated software, counterfeit goods, and unauthorized streams of copyrighted material.
- Weapons of mass destruction, illegal drugs, and other contraband.
- Spyware, stalkerware, and other tools whose primary purpose is non-consensual surveillance.
- Content that is illegal in any jurisdiction where it would be served.
4. Prohibited conduct
In addition to restrictions on content, the following conduct is prohibited regardless of category:
- No deceptive practices. Do not misrepresent your identity, your product, your pricing, your endorsements, or the source of any claim.
- No security violations. Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without prior written consent. Do not attempt to circumvent authentication, rate limiting, or access controls.
- No scraping at scale. Reading our guides is encouraged. Automated scraping for the purpose of training models, building competing datasets, or rehosting our content is not. Reasonable indexing by search and AI-search crawlers is welcome — see our robots.txt and llms.txt.
- No harassment of staff or other users. Disagreement is fine; abusive, threatening, or repetitive contact is not.
- No impersonating Context Hints. Do not represent yourself as an employee, partner, or authorized agent of Context Hints without written authorization.
- No abuse of the free tools. The tools are provided in good faith. Do not use them to generate content for prohibited categories, to test prompts at industrial scale, or to attempt prompt-injection or jailbreak-style behaviour.
- No regulatory bypass. Do not use Context Hints to evade lawful obligations — for example, by targeting protected groups in ways prohibited by housing, credit, or employment regulation.
5. Brand-safety expectations
When you operate paid campaigns based on advice from Context Hints, or — when applicable — through a Context Hints platform, you agree:
- To honour the disclosure expectations of every platform you advertise on, including OpenAI's published Ads Policies for ChatGPT campaigns.
- To keep claims truthful and substantiated. Forward-looking statements, performance claims, and testimonials must be defensible.
- To make landing pages match the offer in the ad — no bait-and-switch.
- To respect the user's experience: no autoplay audio, no aggressive interstitials, no dark patterns in checkout.
6. Trademark and intellectual property
"Context Hints," the Context Hints logo, the brand orb mark, and the design language documented in our public design system are trademarks and trade dress of Context Hints Labs Inc. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or partnership without our prior written consent.
You retain all rights in your own trademarks and brand assets. We will not use them in marketing without your explicit written consent, except to identify you as a customer in a way that is factual and consistent with your written guidance.
If you believe content on contexthints.com infringes your intellectual property, send a notice to legal@contexthints.com with a description of the work, the URL of the alleged infringement, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, and a signature. We will review and respond.
7. Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is violating this policy — for example, using advice from Context Hints to run a deceptive campaign, or impersonating us — report it to abuse@contexthints.com. We treat abuse reports as confidential to the extent we can while still investigating.
8. Enforcement
Where we identify a violation, we take action proportionate to the severity, the user's history, and the risk involved:
- Warning for first, non-severe violations where good-faith mistake is plausible.
- Suspension for repeated or material violations, pending remediation.
- Termination for severe violations or repeated failure to remediate, including immediate termination of any engagement.
- Reporting to authorities where the violation involves credible threats, child safety, or other matters law enforcement should know about.
Decisions are at our discretion. We aim to be reasonable; we will not be infinitely patient.
